Hello Everyone,
I am just writing a quick note to remind you all that the End of Season
Regatta and Squib Open will be held on the Broad on Sunday 26th October.
There will be three races and lunch will be provided between the
2nd and 3rd race. It is always a well attended and entertaining day, with
some classes finishing the summer with a flourish, while others are
preparing for the start of the Winter Season. Please do try and join us.
The first race starts at 10.45.
Just 5 local Squibs took part in the Inland Championships at Rutland
this year, and it certainly was a weekend to remember (or forget…..)
The wind gusted up to storm force on the Saturday and on Sunday not
only did it blow, but we had torrential rain as well! Despite all that,
Brimstone (in her new camouflage colour) came 6th, Richard and Goochy
came 15th and Peter, David and Nick survived to tell the tale, although
poor Croc came home with a broken mast. There are lots of exciting
pictures on the Rutland S.C. website!
The Winter Season starts on Sunday 2nd Nov, I wonder
if we can get more than 11 boats out this year.
See you soon, Jenny
